Swartwood, Wieczorek Named Silversword Athletes of the Week

Chaminade University men's golfer Dale Swartwood (San Diego/Clairemont) and women's volleyball right-side hitter Beele Wieczorek (Wiesbaden, Germany/Elly-Heuss School) are the Male and Female Silversword Athletes of the Week for competition between Oct. 5-11.

Swartwood shined in his first-ever collegiate tournament last week, tying for third in the RCA Electric Invitational after firing a 1-over-par 211 at par-70 TPC Monterey at Pasadera Course. The freshman earned him PacWest Conference Player of the Week honors, the first by a Silversword since September 2016.

Wieczorek totaled 22 kills against Biola and Westmont, the most productive two-match stretch of her career. After being sidelined the first half of the season via injury, the sophomore put down a career-high 13 kills while hitting .407 against Biola last Thursday with five digs and a pair of blocks. Twenty-four hours later, she had nine kills and a block against Westmont.
