Simon, Pagud Named Silversword Athletes of the Week

Chaminade University men's soccer midfielder Nisho Simon (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Westminster College (PA)/Mililani HS) and women's volleyball libero Kyra Pagud (Honolulu/Moanalua) are the first Male and Female Silversword Athletes of the Week for the 2026-27 academic year.
 
Simon played all 90 minutes in the Silverswords' season opener on Saturday against the University of Hawai'i Hilo. The junior transfer helped the 'Swords hold the Vulcans, picked third in the PacWest Preseason Poll, to just one goal.
 
Pagud had a stellar start to the season, totaling 106 digs, averaging 4.61 in 23 sets which included the Hawai'i-Alaska Challenge from Aug. 20-22. At the Central Washington Invitational last weekend, the senior posted 72 digs at a 5.54 clip including a career-high 22 digs against Western Washington to earn her first career PacWest Defender of the Week award. Pagud was also named to the Invitational all-tournament team.
