INDIANAPOLIS – The Chaminade University women's volleyball team is ranked fifth in the latest NCAA regional rankings released Wednesday.

The Silverswords moved up one spot from No. 6 in last week's West Region rankings. Cal State San Bernardino is the West's No. 1-ranked squad followed by Western Washington at No. 2, Simon Fraser at No. 3 and Cal State Los Angeles at No. 4.

The rankings help determine the five at-large berths into the NCAA West Regional which begins in early December. The winners of the three conference in the West (Pacific West, California Collegiate Athletic Association, Great Northwest Athletic Conference) will receive automatic bids into the 64-team NCAA Division II Tournament.

The Silverswords (14-3), who moved into first place of the PacWest late Tuesday night after Hawai'i Pacific's upset of Azusa Pacific (11-3), will face the Cougars in a rematch of Monday's match, won by Chaminade. A 'Swords' win would give them the tiebreaker over APU due to their series sweep and a two-win lead of current second-place Biola (13-3).
