IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University guard
Kevin Kremer (Chico, Calif./Utah/Pleasant Valley HS) on Monday was named the Pacific West Conference Hawai'i Pod Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The redshirt sophomore posted a pair of double-doubles in the Silverswords' season-opening weekend series home split against the University of Hawai'i Hilo.
In the team's Saturday opener, Kremer tied his career-highs with 20 points and 11 rebounds, making 8-of-12 shots from the floor and all four 3-point attempts to lead the 'Swords to their 97-76 win.
Kremer set a new rebounding career-best by pulling down 12 the following day while adding 13 points. He also made all three of his triples in the final eight minutes of the game, two being either game-tying or go-ahead scores.
It's Kremer's third PacWest weekly career honor but his first for a player of the week.
The 'Swords are next in action on Tuesday, Feb. 9 when they face Hawai'i Pacific University at The Shark Tank with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. It is a makeup of the postponed game originally scheduled for Jan. 22.
