Update: Changes the location of Saturday's doubleheader.
KANEOHE, O'ahu, Hawai'i – Friday's scheduled doubleheader against Hawai'i Pacific University at Howard Okita Field has been postponed due to rain.
The makeup date is scheduled for Sunday, May 2 at Okita Field with first pitch at 12 p.m. The Silverswords will be serving as the home team.
Meanwhile, Saturday's scheduled twin bill has been moved to Sand Island Park Field in Honolulu with a noon start time. Saturday will still be Senior Day for pitcher
Madelyn Stockslager (Torrance, Calif./South) and catcher
Ronni Gallegos (Long Beach, Calif./Mt. San Antonio College/Saint Joseph) since Sunday is the makeup date.
The remaining four games between the 'Swords and Sharks, in addition to HPU's final three at Hawai'i Hilo, all have postseason ramifications which will determine the champion of the Pacific West Conference Hawai'i Pod.
Chaminade (10-10) trails Hawai'i Hilo (13-8) by 2 ½ games in the Hawai'i pod standings. The Vulcans need to win one of their three remaining games against HPU (6-11) to clinch the pod.
Chaminade can win the pod by sweeping its last four against the Sharks and hope HPU sweeps the Vulcans in Hilo next weekend.
HPU can win the pod by winning its final seven games to tie the Vulcans in the standings but would capture the title due to the head-to-head tiebreaker.
The winner of the Hawai'i Pod will travel to Dominican, the Northern California Pod champion, and the Southern California Pod champs in a three-team tournament in mid-May to determine the PacWest's automatic qualifier to the six-team NCAA West Regional.
