Men’s Basketball Adds Final Two Recruits

HONOLULU – Chaminade University men's basketball head coach Eric Bovaird announced Wednesday the addition of the final two recruits who will join the Silverswords for the 2021-22 season.

Tredyn Christensen is a transfer from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 11 points, five rebounds and three assists while shooting over 50 percent clip as a freshman this past season. He helped the Badgers finish with a 16-8 mark and earn a berth in the Region 18 Tournament. Christensen will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Bovaird on Christensen:
"Tredyn is a very athletic point guard from a really good community college. At his height, he can play multiple guard positions and is very versatile on the offensive end. He is really good with the ball in his hands in making decisions."

Justin Williams is a 2020 graduate of JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. The 6-3 guard from Los Angeles was a two-time all-Trinity League selection, earning first team honors his senior year after dishing out 182 assists as a senior, ranking among the leaders in Southern California. He was also a second team all-league pick in his junior year. Williams spent last season at Don Bosco Institute in Crown Point, Ind., to continue to enhance his game.

Bovaird on Williams:
"Justin is a very explosive guard we've had an interest in for several years. He's played for some elite programs that gave him valuable experience and is ready to compete at the NCAA level. We are really excited he decided to come to Chaminade."

Christensen and Williams join transfers Zach McIntire (Mercyhurst University), Joseph Smoyer (Columbia University), Paris Taylor (Wisconsin Green Bay) and St. James Academy senior Michael Cahill as newcomers to the 2021-22 'Swords team.

"This wraps up perhaps the deepest recruiting class we've ever had," Bovaird said. "I can't wait to work with this group. I feel we have a championship caliber team. It'll be a lot of fun to coach them."
