Chaminade University women's soccer goalkeeper
Naomi Takata (Honolulu/Pearl City) and men's soccer midfielder
Owen Caba (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week for competition between Oct. 17 and 23.
Takata was a shield for the Silverswords, posting consecutive shutouts on Oct. 18 against Fresno Pacific and Oct. 22 at Azusa Pacific. The junior broke the single season team record with six clean sheets and lowered her goals-against average to .580. Her contributions helped the 'Swords remain undefeated through five PacWest contests and become a contender for the conference title.
Caba scored his team-leading third goal in Wednesday's win over Fresno Pacific, recording a goal in three consecutive matches, tying the program record set three times previously.
