KAHUKU, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's and men's cross country team concluded their regular season Saturday, competing at the Hawai'i Pacific University Sharks Invitational at the Kahuku Golf Course.
The Silverswords women posted 66 points, finishing third overall.
Anne Drelling (Orange County, Calif./Canyon) was the 'Swords' top finisher, completing the 5-kilometer race in 23 minutes, 5 seconds, finishing eighth overall.
Caitlin Bocobo (Mililani, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Mililani) came in three seconds later at 23:08.3 to finish ninth.
Eri Leong (Las Vegas/SECTA) completed the course in 24:30.3, followed by
Montserrat Lanfranco (Honolulu/Roosevelt) at 26:05.1 and
Ashley Yoshikawa (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) at 26:41.2.
HPU placed the first five runners to finish with a perfect score of 15 to win the team race. The Sharks' Karen Corona Perez was the individual winner at 21:21.0.
In the men's 8-k race,
Owen Daugherty (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) was Chaminade's top finisher for the fourth time this season and the 10th time in his career. The junior finished fourth overall, running the course in 29:17.8.
Peter Jan Ramos (Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Waipahu) was the next Silversword to cross the finish line, completing the course in 30:29.7 for a seventh place finish.
Elijah Bernardo-Flores (Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) followed at 30:44.5 with
Peyton Oshiro (Honolulu/Hawai'i Baptist Academy) coming in at 31:38.8.
Conor McMahon (Pacific, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) and
Josiah Rodrigues (Honoka'a, Hawai'i/Honoka'a) rounded out the Chaminade group with times of 37:54.1 and 41:42.5, respectively.
Both teams will have the next three weeks off as they train for the Pacific West Conference Championships on Nov. 5 in San Leandro, Calif.
