IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's volleyball team on Monday was selected as the final Pacific West Conference Team of the Week honoree for the season.
The Silverswords completed the regular season by taking all four matches in their Northern California/Central Valley road trip to capture their second consecutive PacWest title. They will carry a 38-match winning streak against PacWest teams in the area into the 2023 season.
The victories capped off a 24-7 regular season and a conference mark of 19-1. The 'Swords won all 10 of their conference road matches for the first time in the 39-year history of the program.
During the trip, head coach
Kahala Kabalis Hoke earned career victory No. 180 at Academy of Art to become the winningest coach in team history.
Point Loma's Abigail Nua was the PacWest Player of the Week and Biola's Bri Bellfi was the Freshman of the Week.
The 'Swords will participate in their second straight NCAA West Regional which opens Thursday in Bellingham, Washington. They face top-seeded and GNAC champion Alaska Anchorage, which moved up to No. 4 in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll.
