Smoyer, Bankofier Earn HPH Silversword Athlete Honors

Chaminade University's Joseph Smoyer (Portland, Ore./Columbia University/Franklin HS) and Ellyonna Bankofier (Happy Valley, Ore./Clackamas) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Male and Female Athletes of the week for Jan. 24 through 30.
 
Smoyer totaled 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists during the men's basketball team's Southern California road trip. The graduate center also added four blocked shots to maintain his status as the Pacific West Conference's top shot-blocker with 30.
 
Bankofier had a combined 36 points, five rebounds, six assists and five steals during the women's basketball team's four-games-in-six-days span. The senior guard hit five 3-pointers during the trip and was 5-for-6 from the free throw line.
