Peterson, Obara Earn HPH Silversword Athlete Honors

Chaminade University men's golfer Schuyler Peterson (Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) and second baseman Cheyne Obara (Pearl City, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Pearl City) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Male and Female Silversword Athletes of the Week for competition between March 7 and 13.
 
Peterson was the Silverswords' low scorer at the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawk Invitational at the Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, Calif. He carded a 76 and 79 during the 36-hole event, the only 'Swords golfer to break 80.
 
Obara played a pivotal role during the softball team's 6-0 record during the week but none was bigger than Sunday's doubleheader against Holy Names. She drove in two runs and had a hand in three of the 'Swords' record four double plays turned in Game 1. In the nightcap, Obara delivered a two-run single which put them up 6-5 in the fifth inning which erased a five-run deficit in their 9-5 win which is tied for the largest comeback win in program history.
