IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's soccer team on Tuesday was selected as the Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Team of the Week.
The Silverswords won both matches in Durango, Colorado last week with 1-0 and 3-1 wins over Fort Lewis and Western Colorado, respectively. The victories helped the 'Swords start 2-0 for the first time in program history.
Goalkeeper
Naomi Takata (Honolulu/Pearl City) allowed just one goal in 180 minutes while Chaminade received balanced scoring.
Hoku Schatz (Hau'ula, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Univ. of Idaho/Kahuku HS),
Gracie Bowers (Murietta, Calif./California Baptist/Vista Murrieta HS),
Asya Holt (Honolulu/Roosevelt) and
Lece Aviles (Aztec, N.M./New Mexico State/Aztec HS) all found the back of the net last week.
Azusa Pacific's Evelina Von Euler was named by the PacWest as the Player of the Week while Alexis Aguilar of Holy Names was the Defender of the Week.
The 'Swords will make their home debut this Saturday when they host Cal State East Bay. Kickoff at Saint Louis Field is set for 12 p.m.
