Chaminade University forwards
Taeya Blakeney (Honolulu/Kaiser) and
Scott Ator (Murphy, Texas/College of the Sequoias/Wylie HS) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week for competition between Jan. 9 and 15.
Blakeney totaled 11 points and 12 rebounds for the women's basketball team during the week. The junior posted two career highs in both games, scoring eight points against Academy of Art on Jan. 10, then pulled down eight rebounds three nights later against Dominican.
Ator had nine points and nine rebounds in his two games, helping the men's basketball team win both games against ART U and Dominican, helping the Silverswords earn PacWest Team of the Week honors. Against Academy of Art, the junior tied his season high with six rebounds.
