IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University defender
Haley Mo'okini (San Gabriel, Calif./Gabrielino) on Tuesday was named the Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
The sophomore scored four goals during the Silverswords' three-match mainland road trip, converting all three of her penalty kick attempts. Her fourth goal was off a 40-yard set piece in Saturday's win at Dominican. Mo'okini's efforts helped the 'Swords complete their first-ever mainland road sweep. Her four scores currently rank third in the PacWest.
Mo'okini, whose current three-match scoring streak is one shy of the school record, is the first Silversword to earn conference player of the week since
Caili Cain in September 2021.
The PacWest Defender of the Week went to Point Loma's Julia Pinnell while Hawai'i Hilo is the Team of the Week.
Chaminade is 3-0 in the PacWest for the first time in program history and is currently tied atop the conference standings with No. 6 Hawai'i Hilo. The team will resume action on Thursday, Oct. 12 when they face Hawai'i Pacific University in a conference tilt at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. The 'Swords defeated HPU in a non-conference match, 2-0, earlier this season.
