Softball Releases 2024 Slate

HONOLULU – The Chaminade University softball team on Wednesday unveiled their 2024 schedule, a 41-game regular season slate which includes four of the five top finishers from the 2023 California Collegiate Athletic Association season and 28 Pacific West Conference games including the alternating year road trip to Southern California.
 
Following a Jan. 20 alumnae game, the Silverswords will participate in the Concordia Kickoff Classic for the first time starting Feb. 2 at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California. The 'Swords will open against defending West Region champion Cal State San Marcos followed later that evening against Stanislaus State. They will also face Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 3 then close out the tournament on Feb. 4 in a single game against Cal State Dominguez Hills. The tournament is hosted by PacWest member Concordia University Irvine.
 
The 'Swords return home to face Josai University of Japan on Feb. 12 in an exhibition then resume regular season action against the University of Texas Permian Basin from the Lone Star Conference on Feb. 14 and fellow West Region member Western Oregon of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference on Feb. 16.
 
Chaminade will face both island rivals Hawai'i Pacific University and the University of Hawai'i Hilo six times with one non-conference doubleheader each. The 'Swords face HPU on Sunday, March 3 at Silversword Field in their PacWest opener while the non-conference twin bill is Saturday, March 16 at Howard Okita Field. CUH will face UH Hilo in three consecutive doubleheaders with the conference games on Saturday, April 13 at home while the non-conference contests is the next day. The teams meet again on April 20 in Hilo.
 
Dominican University of California comes to O'ahu on March 8-9 for the traditional four-game series for PacWest out-of-pod games. The 'Swords then take their conference road trip to the always daunting Southern California trip to perennial PacWest power CUI on March 26-27, followed by Biola (March 29-30) then closes out the trip at Azusa Pacific (April 1-2).
 
Academy of Art comes to Silversword Field on April 6-7 followed by the six games against the Vulcans including the final home game and Senior Day on April 14. The Silverswords close out the regular season at HPU on Saturday, April 27.
 
The PacWest Championships will be on May 1 through 3 at Dominican's Penguin Field with the top four teams qualifying to determine the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA West Regionals.
 
The Silverswords return seven of their eight position starters and three pitchers from last season.
