IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University centerfield Chasity McKean (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/College of Southern Nevada/Kapolei HS) was named Tuesday the Pacific West Conference Softball Player of the Week.

McKean hit a blistering .875 (7-of-8) in the Silverswords' sweep of the University of Hawai'i Hilo last Saturday, driving in five runs while scoring three. She went 4-for-4 with two RBI in the first game then followed with a 3-for-4 performance and three more RBI in the nightcap, helping Chaminade reach the 20-win barrier for the first time since 2013.

McKean is hitting .368 on the season, ranking her fourth in the PacWest in batting and is currently on a six-game hitting streak. She has also driven in 24 runs which puts her among the conference's top-10 in the RBI category.

The double victories put the 'Swords right back in the chase for a PacWest Tournament berth, just 1 ½ games behind in-city rival Hawai'i Pacific University for the fourth and final spot with less than two weeks remaining in the regular season.

The Silverswords will on the Big Island this Saturday in a rematch against the Vulcans. First pitch at UH Hilo Softball Field is slated for 12 p.m.
