Chaminade University catcher Keaolani Takemura (Pearl City, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Mid-Pacific Institute) on Monday was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region Second Team.

The junior finished the regular season as the Pacific West Conference's leader in triples (11) and RBI (41) while ranking among conference leaders in batting average (.389), slugging percentage (.584), on-base percentage (.455) and on-base plus slugging percentage (1.039).

Takemura, who last week was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-West Region First Team, is the first Silversword to earn all-region honors by the D2CCA since 2021.

Chaminade ended the 2023 season with its most wins in a decade, finishing 22-24 overall and a 14-17 PacWest mark and were in contention for a PacWest Softball Tournament berth entering the final weekend of the regular season. Playing in their new venue – Silversword Field at Sand Island Park – the team set numerous offensive records, leading the conference in triples (24) while ending the season as the PacWest' third-highest hitting team with a batting average of .285.
