LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Chaminade University women's volleyball team on Thursday was honored by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award.
It marks the sixth straight year – and seven of the last eight – the Silverswords have earned the academic award from the USMC and AVCA.
Over 1,300 collegiate and high school programs were recognized for the academic award this past year.
To earn the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, teams must achieve a team grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 at 5.0) throughout the 2022-23 academic year.
