LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Chaminade University softball team was recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as one of the top academic teams by being named to the Easton/NFCA Team GPA list.
The Silverswords had the 75th highest GPA in Division II with a 3.411 average during the 2022-23 year. They were second among the six Pacific West Conference programs named to the list, ranking only behind Dominican University of California which had a 3.496. Biola, Concordia, Academy of Art and Azusa Pacific were the other PacWest programs who were on the team list.
In addition, 12 'Swords were named as Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athletes.

Kieren Lopez,

Keaolani Takemura were all honored individually.
To be named as an Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.5 GPA during the year. A total of 1,790 student-athletes across Division II were named Scholar-Athletes.
