HONOLULU – Chaminade University Athletics announced Tuesday the resumption of the Athletics Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame, which began in 2009 with the induction of former men's basketball coach Merv Lopes, has been on pause since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among those who have also been inducted in the Athletics Hall of Fame are: The 1982-83 men's basketball team which defeated No. 1 Virginia; the late Hawai'i broadcast legend Jim Leahey;
George Gilmore, one of the most prolific scorers in Chaminade history; former volleyball head coach
Glennie Adams; and the late Will Pounds, the first standout Silversword on the hardwood.
The Athletics Hall of Fame Committee is now taking nominations for the Class of 2024. Nominations will be accepted until Oct. 1, 2023.
The Hall of Fame Committee is comprised of:

- Deven Bukoski, Senior Woman Administrator
- Dr. Dale Fryxell, Faculty Athletic Representative
- Dr. Darren Iwamoto, Faculty or University Administrator
- Jill Higashi, Hui Ahinahina Club member
- Michelle Richardson, Chaminade Coaching Staff Representative
- Kobe Young, Student-Athlete Alumnus
- Sweetie Pacarro, At-Large Community Member
- Bill Villa, Athletic Hall of Fame Member
