Chaminade University outside hitter
Letizia Cammillucci (Padova, Italy/San Jose State/Liceo Amedeo di Savoia Duca D'asosta HS) on Monday was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week while the Silverswords moved up to No. 7 in the latest AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll.

Cammillucci totaled 28 kills, 21 digs and three service aces last weekend to help the 'Swords remain undefeated in the conference at 12-0 while improving to 19-4 overall. She had 20 kills and 15 digs in Saturday's win over Concordia University Irvine, coming up in clutch situations. Cammillucci put down three kills in the final moments of their epic 33-31 second set win then had two kills and an ace during a key stretch late in the third set which helped the 'Swords take control of the match.

The win over CUI not only extended their winning streak to nine but was also the program's 500th all-time win. They have also won 18 straight conference matches dating back to last season.

For the season, the graduate transfer is seventh in the PacWest in kills at 3.14 per set and leads the conference in aces per set at 0.58.

Point Loma's Makenna Joyce was named the conference Defender of the Week while the Sea Lions, the PacWest's other undefeated at 11-0, are the Team of the Week. The 'Swords and Sea Lions will face each other for the only time on Nov. 15 in San Diego.

Meanwhile, Chaminade moved up two spots in the AVCA poll to No. 7. The Silverswords received 842 points, 36 behind sixth-ranked West Texas A&M.

MSU Denver remains at the top of the poll while Ferris State is No. 2. The rest of the top five are St. Cloud State, west region member Cal Poly Pomona and Nebraska-Kearney.

Other west region teams in the poll are Point Loma at 15, San Francisco State at 20 and Cal State Los Angeles at 21.

The Silverswords wrap up their extended home stand this week against Fresno Pacific (11-9, 7-6 PacWest) on Thursday and Jessup (9-8, 5-5 PacWest) on Friday.
