Chaminade University midfielder
Owen Malone (Carlsbad, Calif./Univ. of Saint Katherine/Carlsbad HS) and
Anna Stucchi (Roncello, Italy/Santa Clara University/I.I.S. Ezio Vanoni HS) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Male and Female Silversword Athletes of the Week for competition between Oct. 1 and 6.
Malone scored in both of the men's soccer team's contests during the week. He found the back of the net for the first time this season in their PacWest Conference opener against Dominican in the 'Swords' 2-1 win on Oct. 1, snapping the team's 23-game winless streak. The junior got his second score two days later in a 1-1 draw against Academy of Art.
Stucchi totaled 29 kills, 13 digs and five blocks while hitting .386 to help the 'Swords win their three matches of the PacWest northern California road swing, extending the team's win streak against PacWest NorCal foes to 52 straight. Stucchi tallied double-digit kills and two blocks at Jessup and Fresno Pacific and had a season-high six digs against the latter.
