LONG BEACH, Calif. – Chaminade University's
Gracie Knowd (Ramona, Calif./New Mexico State/Ramona HS) on Wednesday was named to the All-Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer second team at midfielder in voting conducted by the league coaches.
The senior, who earned her first All-PacWest honor, had a standout final year in a Silverswords' uniform with a team-high four goals and nine points, all of which were career firsts. Three of her scores were game-winners. She also finished the season fourth on the squad in minutes (1,385) and shots (19) and was second with nine shots on-goal.
Knowd's arrival to Chaminade coincided with the success of the women's soccer program. After transferring from New Mexico State in the fall of 2021, the Silverswords have enjoyed four straight winning seasons – the first-ever winning campaigns in team history – and compiled a 27-21-13 mark and are 19-13-9 in PacWest contests during that stretch.
The 'Swords finished 2024 with a 6-5-5 overall record and sixth in the PacWest with a 5-3-3 mark with 18 conference points.
The PacWest Player of the Year is Hawai'i Hilo's Teani Arakawa while teammate Savina Zamborini is the Newcomer of the Year. PacWest regular season champion Point Loma had four other individual winners with Emma Thrapp (Defender), Julia Pinnell (Goalkeeper), Priya Torres (Freshman) and Kristi Kiely (Coach).
