LONG BEACH, Calif. – Five members of the Chaminade University women's volleyball team on Tuesday were named to the All-Pacific West Conference First Team, as voted by the conference coaches while three were honored with the conference specialty awards.
- Anna Stucchi (Roncello, Italy/Santa Clara University/I.I.S. Ezio Vanoni HS) was also named the PacWest Newcomer of the Year, marking the sixth straight year a Silversword has captured the honor. Stucchi has posted a conference-leading .441 attack percentage which is also on pace to be a new program single season record. In matches where she has eight or more kills, she has hit over .400 21 times.
- Grace Talpash (Temecula, Calif./University of Oklahoma/Great Oak HS) is also the conference's Setter of the Year after posting the PacWest's second-best assist numbers at 9.37 per set. The senior also spreads the 'Swords' attack with five players who have over 158 kills each. In addition to her setting skills, Talpash also has 93 kills, 38 blocks and 31 service aces.
- Letizia Cammillucci (Padova, Italy/San Jose State/Liceo Amedeo di Savoia Duca D'asosta HS) had a solid season, leading the conference in aces with 58 which is also two shy of the school's single-season record. Her 2.99 kills per set ranked in the PacWest's top 10 while also finishing sixth in the conference in points at 3.65 per set.
- Mahala Ka'apuni (Hilo, Hawai'i/Alaska Anchorage/Hilo HS) earned her first conference postseason honor after posting 302 kills, 31 aces, 51 blocks and 121 digs. The senior posted double digits in kills in six of her last eight matches including a career-high 21 at Concordia University Irvine on Nov. 11.
- Lizanyela Lopez (Lima, Peru/Trinity Valley CC/Saco Oliveros HS) earned her second All-PacWest selection after finishing fourth in the PacWest with a .343 hitting percentage. The senior also led the squad with 86 total blocks.
- Kahala Kabalis Hoke was named the Coach of the Year for the third time in the past four years. She has been a part of all seven of Chaminade's postseason berths, two as a player and five as coach. Since the start of the 2021 season, Kabalis Hoke has a 110-22 mark with a PacWest record of 73-7.
The conference player of the year was Point Loma's Abigail Nua while Azusa Pacific's Mia Medrano was the libero of the year. Makayla Smith of Fresno Pacific and Saren Rogers of Point Loma were the co-freshmen of the year.
The Silverswords, who captured their third PacWest championship in four years, will be making their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II West Regional. They are the No. 3 seed in the single-elimination tournament and will face sixth-seeded Stanislaus State in the first round.
