LONG BEACH, Calif – Chaminade University goalkeeper
Jordhan Kieres (Lakewood, Ohio/Bellermine Univ./Lakewood HS) on Monday was named the Pacific West Conference Women's Soccer Defender of the Week.
The fifth-year senior collected back-to-back clean sheets with six saves in the final two home games of her career. The Ohio native helped the Silverswords preserve a 1-0 win over Fresno Pacific last Wednesday and salvage a nil-nil draw to Hawai'i Pacific University on Saturday's Aloha Senior Day where she and four other teammates were honored. She made two stops against the Sunbirds and four more against the Sharks, her final being a diving stop in the 88th minute, which kept the game scoreless.
Kieres holds a 0.93 goals against average with 19 saves in seven matches this season. After transferring from Bellermine University in 2022, she played a reserve role at CUH for two seasons but did not record a second in-goal until this season.
Westmont's Sierra Martin was the conference's player of the week while Team of the Week is Concordia University Irvine.
At 6-4-5 overall and 5-2-3 in the PacWest, the 'Swords have ensured themselves a winning record for the fourth consecutive season. They close the season Saturday at No. 21 University of Hawai'i Hilo at 3 p.m. and tie the program record for wins with an upset of the Vulcans.
