IRVINE, Calif. – Because of inclement weather, Friday's season-opening schedule at the Concordia Kickoff Classic has been modified. All games scheduled at Orange County Great Park have been relocated to other venues across Southern California.
The Chaminade University softball team's season-opening contest against No. 7 Cal State San Marcos has been moved to Cougars Softball Field in Azusa, California, at 4:30 p.m Pacific time. There will be no ticket charge to enter Azusa Pacific's softball field. The Silverswords' second game of the day against Stanislaus State was canceled.
Saturday's slate at Great Park is the same as scheduled. The 'Swords, who are making their first-ever mainland trip in the month of February, are scheduled to face Cal State San Bernardino at 11:30 a.m. Pacific time then Cal State Monterey Bay at 4 p.m. Pacific.
In addition to Azusa, other Friday venues include moving games to the campuses at Concordia University Irvine, Biola University and Cal State Dominguez Hills. All participants will play just one game that day.
