IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University designated player
Larchelle Tuifao (Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kapolei) was named Tuesday the Pacific West Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Tuifao hit a blistering .818 (9-for-11) during the softball team's four-game stretch against Texas Permian Basin and Western Oregon last week, getting multiple hits in all four games with two home runs, seven RBI and four runs. The first of her two homers coming in Game 1 against UTPB in the Silverswords' home opener on Feb. 14, was the first to leave the yard and traveled an estimated 250 feet.
In the Western Oregon series, Tuifao was 4-for-4 with her second homer, two runs and two RBI while walking four times.
She is hitting .522 on the season which is third in the PacWest while her 1.447 OPS leads the conference.
