3/5/2024 1:00:00 PM

IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University starting pitcher Xavier Stoker (Cedar City, Utah/College of the Canyons//Canyon View HS) on Tuesday was named the Pacific West Conference Pitcher of the Week.

The junior held Fresno Pacific to just four hits with eight strikeouts after the Sunbirds collected 38 total knocks in the first three games of last week's series. Stoker earned the complete-game win in the regularly scheduled seven-inning game, helping the Silverswords salvage a split of their first four-game series of the season.

Stoker is 2-1 with a 3.77 ERA this season, with 24 Ks in 28 2/3 innings pitched this season. He is the second straight Chaminade pitcher to earn the conference's Pitcher of the Week award. Max Patterson (Honolulu/Olympic College/Kalani HS) was last week's honoree.

The Silverswords (10-11, 4-4 PacWest) will face PacWest preseason favorite Azusa Pacific to open a four-game series on Wednesday at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park (CORP) Baseball Complex. First pitch is 3 p.m., followed by the seven-inning nightcap at around 6:30 p.m.
