HONOLULU – Chaminade University designated player
Larchelle Tuifao (Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kapolei) on Monday was named to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region Second Team.
The junior, who was also on the D2CCA second team in 2023, hit .358 on the season with a .434 on-base percentage while her slugging percentage was .594, all which ranked in the top four in the Pacific West Conference. Her 1.028 OPS was 10th among all batters in the NCAA Division II West Region, which includes the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC).
Tuifao led the Silverswords in RBI (21), doubles (11) and home runs (4) while having a 12-game hitting streak, the longest of the season and tied for the third-longest in program history. She also had a team-high seven multi-RBI contests including a pair of three-RBI games. Aside from 30 starts at the DP spot, she also got three starts at third base and two at catcher.
The 'Swords finished 16-21 and 10-15 in the PacWest, barely missing a conference tournament berth for the second straight year.
