HONOLULU – Chaminade University softball coach
Kent Yamaguchi on Monday announced 10 more members of the recruiting class who will be on the 2025 roster.
Malia Cordova is an infielder from Elsinore High School in Wildomar, California, where she earned first team all-league honors and helped lead the program to its first-ever California Interscholastic Federation runner-up finish.
Miranda Diaz is a junior college transfer from Cerritos College in Cerritos, California, where she helped the Falcons to a third-place finish in the California Community College Athletic Association (known as the 3C2A) state championship and earned all-tournament team honors. The infielder hit .322 this past season with 23 runs and 27 RBI.
Madison Fao is a freshman infielder from San Pedro High School in San Pedro, California, where she earned four All-Marine League First Team honors.
Alena Frost comes to the Silverswords from Castle High School in Kaneohe. The outfielder is coming off a senior season where she hit .489 with 20 runs and 11 RBI for the Knights.
Sophia "SoSo" Hayes is an infielder from Diamond Bar High School in Diamond Bar, California, where the infielder earned first-team all-league honors as a senior.
Mikala Jacobsen is a catcher and outfielder from Cypress College in Cypress, California. A two-time All-Orange Empire Conference second team selection, Jacobsen hit .358 this past season with 48 hits, 25 runs and 24 RBI, the Chargers' second straight appearance in the 3C2A title game, a year after Cypress won it all in 2023. She is the younger sister of current 'Swords senior outfielder
Bailey Jacobsen.
Liliyah-Jou Quel-Kaina is a freshman outfielder from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu and hit .346 and nine RBI with the Rough Riders this past season.
Gabriella Schneider is a freshman from Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California. A catcher and outfielder, Schneider earned back-to-back Palomares League Second Team honors and was ranked as one of the top 54 players in the Class of 2024 Region 6 (West) rankings by
Extra Innings Softball.
Maggie Turnbach is an infielder from Brick, New Jersey. A graduate of St. Rose School, Turnbach was a career .442 slugger, tallying 110 career hits with 40 being extra bases, along with 82 stolen bases. The freshman was named the Shoreline Conference Player of the Year this past year.
Ava Walker is a pitcher and outfielder from Faith Lutheran High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Walker was named to the Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada Second Team as a utility player after a senior season where she slugged .466 with 18 runs and 20 RBI.

Melinda "Mimi" Smith – each of whom signed during last fall's signing period – as the newcomers to the team.
The Silverswords will look to rebuild with the current recruiting class after losing six seniors to graduation. The 'Swords are coming off a 15-21 season, 10-15 in the conference, where they finished just shy of a Pacific West Conference Tournament berth for the second straight year.
