Chaminade University cross country runners
Peter Jan Ramos (Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Waipahu) and
Maria Steinke (Columbus, Ohio/University of Dayton/Bexley HS) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Male and Female Silversword Athletes of the Week.
Ramos was the first Silversword men's runner to complete Saturday's 5-kilometer Hawai'i Big Wave Invitational, finishing the course in 18:37.6, good enough for a third-place overall finish.
Steinke logged a time of 20:29.5 for a ninth-place overall finish in the 5-k women's race but was the first non-Division I runner to cross. The University of Hawai'i Manoa and University of the Pacific runners placed the first eight finishers of the race.
