Chaminade University midfielders
Gracie Knowd (Ramona, Calif./New Mexico State/Ramona HS) and
Ruben Aguiniga (Chula Vista, Calif./San Diego Christian College/Montgomery HS) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week for competition between Sept. 9-15.
Knowd accounted for both scores in the women's soccer team's 2-1 win at Northwest Nazarene on Sept. 10. Trailing by a goal, the senior found the back of the net off a header in the 34th minute to tie the game, her first career goal. Less than five minutes later, Knowd had what proved to be the game-winning assist to help the 'Swords get their first win of the season.
Aguiñiga played 87 minutes for the men's soccer team in Thursday's game against Stanislaus State. The redshirt senior has been among the 'Swords' leaders in minutes played (170) and shots attempted (4).
