Morgan Escobedo (Scottsdale, Ariz./Pinnacle) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Male and Female Athletes of the Week for competition between Dec. 30, 2024 and Jan. 5, 2025.
King got his first two starts of the season, totaling 23 points and 12 rebounds to help the Silverswords win both games during the weekend. His best game of the weekend was a 15-point and seven-rebound effort on Thursday against Westmont.
Escobedo had one of the best two-game stretches of her career during the weekend, totaling 25 points, 17 rebounds, nine assists and eight steals while shooting a shade over 61 percent from the field. In Saturday's win over Westmont, the sophomore posted her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 boards including the game-winning basket as time expired. She also had seven steals. Two days later, Escobedo set a career-high with 15 points with six boards and six assists against Vanguard. Her weekend effort also earned her the PacWest Player of the Week award.
