HONOLULU – The Chaminade University softball team's final game of the University of Hawai'i Fall Invitational at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium on Sunday has been canceled. Heavy rain late Saturday evening rendered the field unplayable.
The Silverswords dropped both of their games in Thursday's first day of the tournament to Fullerton College and host Hawai'i.
In Thursday's tournament opener, the 'Swords trailed 3-2 to Fullerton but got the tying run in the top of the seventh. The Hornets would get a runner on third and scored the walk-off winner to hand CUH the 4-3 loss.
Later in the evening against their Division I cousins UH Manoa, the 'Swords got three hits but could not push a runner across the plate in their 3-0 defeat.
The Silverswords will open their season at the Concordia Kickoff Classic in Irvine, California, on Friday, Jan. 30.
