Chaminade University basketball players
Alyssa Schuetze (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) and
Nathan Medina (Long Beach, Calif./Biola University/Valley Christian HS) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Female and Male Silversword Athletes of the Week for competition between Nov. 24-30.
Schuetze posted a career-high 21 points in the women's basketball team's game against Cal State East Bay last Saturday. The junior guard also pulled down three rebounds, had two blocks and two steals while making 9-of-10 shots from the free throw line.
Medina averaged 17 points per game during the men's basketball team's three games at the Southwest Maui Invitational last week. Included was a 30-point outburst against Texas where he buried eight 3-pointers, tied for the fifth-most in tournament history. He was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week for his efforts.
