Cammillucci, Williams Named Hawai‘i Pacific Health Silversword Athletes of the Week

Chaminade University beach volleyball player Letizia Cammillucci (Padova, Italy/San Jose State/Liceo Amedeo di Savoia Duca D'asosta HS) and baseball shortstop Evon Williams (San Ramon, Calif./Dougherty Valley) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week for competition between April 14-20.

In her final volleyball match – indoor or beach – as a Silversword, Cammillucci played a pivotal role in helping them defeat Hawai'i Pacific University in the season finale. With the match tied at 1, she and playing partner Anna Stucchi dropped their first set in the No. 3 slot. The duo would win the second and the decisive third set, giving Chaminade a two-sets-to-one lead where they ultimately won the match, 4-1.

Williams had three RBI, all coming in crucial moments, in last Saturday's doubleheader against No. 25 Point Loma. In the first game, he had a sixth-inning sacrifice fly that brought the Silverwords to within a run, then had the game-tying RBI single in the eighth. His second sacrifice fly came in the second game, which narrowed the score to 4-3 in the seventh inning.
