LONG BEACH, Calif. – Former Chaminade University outside hitter
Letizia Cammillucci (Padova, Italy/San Jose State/Liceo Amedeo di Savoia Duca D'asosta HS) on Wednesday was named the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in voting done by the conference sports information and communication directors. She was one of the 15 student-athletes from each PacWest-sponsored sport to garner the honor.
Cammillucci, who has a 4.00 grade-point average in the Master's of Business Administration program, led the Silverswords to their third PacWest title in the past four years this past fall. The graduate transfer from San Jose State University was eighth in the PacWest in kills (3.03) and led the conference with a school-record 61 service aces.
An AVCA Third Team All-American, the Italian is one of the eight finalists for the overall PacWest Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year which will be announced next week.
