LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Chaminade University indoor and beach volleyball teams on Monday were honored for academic success during the 2024-25 academic year by earning the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT.
Both Silversword teams posted grade-point averages of 3.48. For the indoor team, it is the sixth time in the last seven years they have been honored for their work in the classroom.
The 'Swords beach squad, who earned the Team Academic Award for the second straight year, was one of 14 Division II teams to earn the award.
To be recognized for the AVCA Team Academic Award, teams must have a minimum 3.30 GPA on a 4.00 scale during the academic year. A total of 1,450 teams from the collegiate ranks and high schools spanning men's and women's programs from indoor to the beach were recognized by the AVCA.
