INDIANAPOLIS – Former Chaminade University outfielder Desiree Bravo (Corona, Calif./Mt. San Antonio College/Centennial HS) was officially named as the 2025 NCAA Division II softball statistical champion in the 'Toughest-to-Strike Out' category.

The senior, who graduated this past May with her degree in Psychology, struck out just once in 152 at-bats this past season, tying her with Amanda Chung of William Jewell University with a 0.007 strikeout rate (Chung had one strikeout in 151 at-bats). Bravo's 152 ratio is the best in the category with at least 150 ABs since 2012 when East Central's Shelby Simmons did not have a single K in 166 at-bats.

Bravo's lone strikeout in 2025 was against Chico State on Feb. 2 when she struck out looking in her first at-bat of the game, her 13th official at-bat of the season. Bravo put the ball in play in her final 139 at-bats.

A two-year outfielder for the Silverswords, Bravo started 47 of 48 games for the 'Swords and ended her career with a .276 average with 42 hits, 21 runs and five sacrifice flies this past season. She also led the team with 14 outfield assists.

Bravo is the second Silversword softball player to become an NCAA statistical champion. Infielder Jenn Betian led the nation in hit-by-pitch per game in 2016.
