Julien Parado (Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Campbell) and forward
Brycen Shackelford (Folsom, Calif./Folsom) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Female and Male Silversword Athletes of the Week for competition between Jan. 19 and 25.
Parado totaled 18 points, five rebounds and eight assists for the women's basketball team during the week. She posted 11 points, four rebounds and four assists against Biola on Thursday then had seven and four more dimes on Saturday against Westmont. Her 3.4 assists average ranks her seventh in the Pacific West Conference.
Shackelford played a key role for the men's basketball team in their win over Westmont on Saturday. The senior has eight points, six in the first half, to help the Silverswords avenge their earlier loss to the Warriors in December, and vault them back atop the Pacific West Conference standings.
