MORGAN HILL, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's golf team completed their first spring championship season tournament Friday with a fifth-place finish at the RCA Electric Spring Invitational at the par-72 Coyote Creek Golf Course.
The Silverswords shot a final round 304 for a 54-hole total of 924. Menlo, the host institution, won its own tournament with a 902.
Chance Wilson (Princeville, Kaua'i, Hawai'i/Enlightium Academy) finished in a tie for fourth at 7-over-par 223, six shots behind tournament winner Fernando Jiminez of Westmont.
Riley Born (Las Vegas/Odyssey) completed his first tournament as a Silversword, firing a final round 1-under 71, finishing tied for ninth overall at 13-over 229. The freshman carded three birdies in his final six holes to earn his spot in the top 10.
Tanner Capik (Los Angeles/Beverly Hills) followed at 236 with
Cody Dao (Henderson, Nev./Liberty) shooting a 241 and
A.J. Dahlk (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) at 247.
The Silverswords will remain in the Bay Area to compete in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout starting Monday at the Corica Park Course in Alameda, California.
