Chaminade Women’s Soccer Falls to UT-Permian Basin 3-1

Lady Swords impressive in debut

Faye scores the goal

Honolulu, HI- A loss to start the Chaminade Women's Soccer season would typically not be a great result.  However, the stats tell a much different story than the 2007 season told.

Multiple shots from multiple players, six corner kicks to UTPB's five, twelve shots with nine on goal.  The list goes on.  If the Swords could have figured a way to stop Brandy Watts (3 goals) it may have ended differently.

Marissa Faye tallied the Lady Swords goal in the 32nd minute to knot the score at 1-1.  Chaminade newcomer Jamie Lindstrom made numerous attacks that pressured the UT-Permian Basin defense, putting four shots on goal.

Brandy Watts goals in the 40th, and again in the 71st minute were too much and the visitors held on 3-1.

Marissa Minor had six saves in defeat.

With the loss, Chaminade falls to 0-1.  UT-Permian Basin moves to 1-1 overall.
