Honolulu, HI- What a night for Chaminade junior Vanja Radanovic. The Silversword middle blocker led the team with 21 kills on a scorching hot .667 hitting percentage in the five game victory over HPU.
CUH got off to a quick start, running away with game one 25-15. The next four games proved more competitive, with HPU taking games two and four (25-21 and 25-18). Chaminade took game three 25-21. The Silverswords took a commanding 6-1 in the fifth and final game and despite an HPU rally, held off the Sea Warriors for the win.
Trina Kauliakamoa added 14 kills and 13 digs, while sophomore setter Tanya Alvino added 30 assists. The Swords won the dig battle 89-84. Chauntelle Maduli (26) and Courtney Lorusso (20) led in digs for Chaminade.
Natasha Bell led with 15 kills for HPU.
With the win, Chaminade moves to 5-5 on the year. Hawaii Pacific falls to 2-8. The Swords are back in action at home on September 20th vs. BYU-Hawaii. First serve is set for 7PM at McCabe Gym.
