Chaminade Women’s Soccer Falls to Grand Canyon 5-1

Phoenix, AZ-  The Lady Swords ran into a tough opponent in Grand Canyon today in Phoenix.  Kaylen Jackson scored three goals for the 'Lopes as GCU got 46 shots on goal in the 5-1 win over CUH. 

 

Grand Canyon got on the board early with a goal by Karley Nelson in the 9th minute.  The Antelopes added three more goals in the first half.  GCU led 4-0 at the break. 

 

Marissa Minor made 23 saves on the day, a season high.  Offensively, Jamie Lindstrom took 7 shots, 5 on goal and scored for Chaminade in the 57th minute to make it 5-1. 

 

CUH was out-shot 46-11 in defeat. 

 

With the loss, Chaminade falls to 1-4. Grand Canyon moves to 2-5-1 overall.  The Lady Swords are back in action in St. George, UT against Dixie State on September 27th.  Game time is set for 11:00 AM MT.
