CUH- SB: Silverswords Sweep Agronauts – 6 to 1 & 6-3

San Mateo, CA- Chaminade took on PacWest Opponent Notre Dame de Na Mur today, they swept them for the second time this season, 6 to 1 and 6 to 2. The Swords swept them at home and now have swept them in Belmont, California.

The Swords started out really fast out of the gates today against the NDNU and it showed, they posted 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and from that point on great defensive play and stellar pitching was the theme from than on out. NDNU posted 6 hits to the Swords 9 hits; Kasy'e Lalau faced 27 batters, walked 2, struck out 1 and gave up one earned one. She improves to 7 and 11 on the year.

Freshman, Shalin “Anuhea” Yamaguchi, hit her first collegiate homerun today and also in the process smashed in 5 RBI's on the day, she was a triple away from hitting from the cycle. She was a triple short, hitting a single, double and a homerun.

Game # 2- The second game was proved to be a battle and CUH fell early 2 to 0 and did not score any runs of their own until Top of the 5th inning. It was the aggressive base running and well placed hits that proved to be the difference, as both Chaminade and NDNU had 11 hits a piece.  The Swords won 6 to 2, Chelsi Walls started the game and was taken out after the 3rd inning, she gave up 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks and faced 16 total batters. Kasy'e Lalau came in relief and finished out the game, giving her 6th victory of the season. She now has a record of 6 and 11 on the year. She gave up 5 hits, struck out 1 and didn't not give up a earned run or a walk. She faced 15 batters total.

With the win the Silverswords of Chaminade University improve to 7-25 overall and 6-12 in the Pacific West Conference. While NDNU falls to 8-25-1 and 0-18 overall in the Pacific West Conference. The next game for Chaminade is on April 3rd against UC- San Diego in the annual Stantislaus Tournament in California. The Swords will be there from April 3rd – April 5th. First pitch is set for 9:15AM PST.
