Box Score HONOLULU – On September 15, 2011, Todd Haley was the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Tim Tebow was the Denver Broncos starting quarterback. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were contending for a playoff berth. And the Chaminade University women's soccer team downed Hawai'i-Hilo, 2-1. That was the last win for the Silverswords.
On Halloween, the Silverswords exorcised a near 26-month demon, defeating Holy Names, 1-0, in a Pacific West Conference match at St. Louis Field, ending a 43-match winless streak. The Swords were 0-42-1 during that stretch. They also went 0-35-1 in PacWest matches.
Kristy Iwahashi provided the game-winner in the 32
nd minute. After the ball ricocheted off a defender, Iwahashi collected the rebound and found the back of the net from 20 yards straight away. It was her first goal of the season.
The Silverswords improved to 1-14 overall and 1-10 in the PacWest. The Hawks fell to 4-10-1 and 0-8-1.
The Swords were aggressors in the first half with 13 total shots, while the Hawks took nine.
CUH withstood a barrage of HNU second-half shots as the Hawks attempted 11 in an attempt to tie the game.

Lauren Ishii made six saves, earning her first career win as netminder. Tiana Miyashiro took the loss.
Chaminade attempted 16 total shots, while the Hawks took 20. Holy Names also had the advantage in corner kicks, 5-2.
"We've been building on this all season and the girls have worked hard," CUH head coach
Michelle Richardson said. "Weeks and weeks of effort have finally paid off. We're pleased with our seniors with whom the program is built on have experienced this win at the end of their senior season."
The Silverswords conclude the season on Nov. 9 against Hawai'i Pacific at St. Louis Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
