Fontes, Stafford Named HPH Athletes of the Week

Chaminade University soccer players Randi Fontes (Wahiawa, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Hawai'i-Manoa/Pearl City HS) and Michael Stafford (Honolulu/Iowa Western CC/Kalani HS) are this week's Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Female and Male Athletes of the Week.
 
Fontes scored her team-leading third goal this past Saturday against Hawai'i Pacific University with three of her seven career goals coming against the Sharks. The junior forward also has a team-best seven points this season.
 
Stafford was brilliant in the Silverswords' 1-0 win over HPU last Saturday, keeping the Sharks out of the net for the full 90 minutes. HPU entered the game as the Pacific West Conference's third-highest goal scoring team at 2.43 goals per game. It also helped avenge a 4-0 loss to the Sharks two weeks prior. The redshirt senior goalkeeper recorded his second shutout of the season and is sixth in the conference in goals against average at 1.538.
