Chaminade University men's soccer midfielder
Davin Garma (Kalaheo, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) and women's soccer forward
Kira Nishiki (Mililani, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Mililani) are this week's Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Male and Female Athletes of the Week.
Â
Garma had a finish to a career that are the stuff of dreams. Playing in his final home game and having gone his entire four-year collegiate career without a goal, the senior launched a 55-yard free kick into the net in the 86th minute to give the Silverswords a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Holy Names last Thursday on Aloha Senior Day. The victory helped the 'Swords to later win their school-record ninth match two days later in the season finale at Hawai'i Hilo.
Â
Nishiki scored her first career goal to provide insurance in the 'Swords' 2-0 win over Holy Names on Aloha Senior Day last Thursday. The victory tied the 2014 and '17 teams for the second-most win in a single season.
