IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University forward
Randi Fontes (Wahiawa, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Hawai'i-Manoa/Pearl City HS) on Tuesday was named to the All-Pacific West Conference Third Team, in voting done by the conference coaches.
It is the second straight year that the junior earned third team honors by the conference.
Fontes led the Silverswords in goals (4) and points (9) for a second consecutive season in helping the team to tie their second-highest win total in program history. The 'Swords had 11 goals this season, third-highest in team history while their 31 points ranks second.
Fontes is currently third in both the program's career goals and points list heading into her senior season in 2020.
Hawai'i Pacific's Ebony Madrid was the PacWest Player of the Year while Biola had two individual honors with Madyson Brown (Defender of the Year) and Cristina Rodriguez (Goalkeeper). Newcomer of the Year honors went to Point Loma's Makenna Herrero while Freshman of the Year was Concordia's Jadenn Carrillo. Coach of the Year honors went to Kristi Kiely of Point Loma.
