Awet, Nueku Named HPH Athletes of Week

Chaminade University men's basketball player Bill Awet (Sydney, Australia/SIU Edwardsville/Victory Rock Prep, Fla.) and women's basketball player Breann Nueku (Honolulu/Clark College/Kamehameha/Kapalama) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Male and Female Athletes of the Week for games played between Dec. 9 and 15.
 
Awet, a junior forward, scored a career-high eight points Sunday with a season-best five rebounds along with a block for the Silverswords against Academy of Art. Awet made three of his five field goals tries including a 3-pointer.
 
Nueku, a redshirt senior guard, hit for a season-high 12 points in Sunday's win at Academy of Art, making three field including a pair of triples. She also went a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Nueku also logged career-highs of four assists and three steals.
